RHODESIAN RIDGEBACKS RE-HOMED IN 2012

Below are brief details of Rhodesian Ridgebacks re-homed during 2012. We would like to offer our deepest thanks to all of their new owners for giving these boys and girls another chance.

These are the lucky ones but some are left behind; still seeking those special people to offer them another chance.

Could you be one of the special ones? If you think you could be please go to the Re-Homing Page for further details.

 Thank You.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks Re-Homed in 2012
Reds - Has been re-homed!
Age 18 Months
Male

When Reds first came into kennels he was very wary of everybody and everything! Happily now that he has got to know them, he is now trusting of the kennel staff and very willing to please.

Reds is still wary of strangers however and will need an experienced owner  prepared to deal with him in a sympathetic manner.

Do you have the required experience to give Reds a second chance?

Reds
Rio
Age 7 years
Male

Heartbreakingly, particularly for those who had been most closely involved with his care, we have had to let Rio go to Rainbow Bridge. The condition that he suffered from, while at one time fixable,  had been allowed to go just too far.

Rest easy now Rio, the pain has past, the sunlight life giving and free!

Updated 1st September 2012

Sadly, due to the death of his owner Rio is looking for a new home. He is a nice dog but appears a bit freaked out by kennel life. While showing no aggression, he is worried and perhaps has never experienced a great deal of socialization. An experienced owner would probably be best for this boy. Is that you?

Dina - Has found a new home!
Age 8 Years
Female

We are informed that The Dogs Trust have adjudged Dina as suitable for re-homing but cannot accommodate her for a number of weeks. Accordingly her current owner has asked if we can help find her a home.

She hasn't lived with children but has lived with other dogs and other animals. Can you find a place for her?

Dina
Molly - Has found a new home!
Age 5 1/2 approximately
Female

This one is a real heart wrencher. Molly is clearly loved by her current owner but force of circumstance dictates that she needs to be re-homed. She appears good with children, dogs and cats. No trouble and no apparent vices. Can you slip her into a small space in your heart and home?

Johnson - Has found a new home
Age 2 Years
Male

Johnson appears to a lovely boy apart from one thing, he's a hooligan!

Having had no training, Johnson will need an experienced owner who can school him in the ways of the social graces; manners!

Are you equipped for the challenge?

Bonnie - Has been re-homed
Age 6 Years

We haven't a lot of detail on Bonnie. She has lived with another dog in the past and seems very pleasant.

Would you like to check her out?

Rodney - Has found his new home
Age 7 to 8 Years approximately
Male

While in kennels Rodney has proved to be a great dog, sweet natured with no obvious hang ups. Found wandering as a stray he appears to speak fluent Brummie!

Can you find a spot for our Brummie Rodders?

Neutered Male

Little is known about Kenzi as yet but we are informed that he has lived with children.

Update 24th May 2012

Very sadly Kenzi has crossed Rainbow Bridge. He started to bloat, but despite the best efforts of all concerned died after an operation to try and correct the torsion. Rest easy Sweet Kenzi

Passed Away May 2012

Arthur - Has found his new home
Age 20 Months
Neutered Male

Recently arrived, Arthur appears somewhat exuberant! While seemingly good with people and other dogs, we are told he is liable to worry livestock and has a distinct dislike of cats. He is likely to need an experienced ridgeback owner who can ensure he does not come into contact with livestock.

Mika
Age Approximately 8 Years
Female

Sadly Mikka has now crossed Rainbow Bridge. She was a lovely old girl who spent the last couple of years happily rummaging around with Kay and David at the Kennels. Rest easy Old Girl you will be sorely missed.

Updated 9th March 2012

When Mika first came to us she had a large mass protruding from her underside. This turned out to be an Inguinal Hernia which has now been operated on and repaired. She was also spayed at the same time.

She has recovered well from her operation and is now looking for a new home. She is very strong and will need an experienced and knowledgeable owner.

Mika
Tilley - Has found a new home!
Age 6 Years
Female

When Tilley first arrived she was on medication for a skin allergy. We are pleased to say that this has now cleared completely and that she is not on any medication at all.

Tilley is a very sweet girl, do you have a sweet tooth?

Kellsy
Age 5 1/2 Years
Female

Madison
Age 6 Years
Female

At long last both these lovely girls have found new homes! In Kellsy's case it took a couple of years but her new owners describe her as a dream. Perhaps it was meant to be!

Kellsy Re-Homed February 2012

Happily Madison has found her new home, but we are still looking for a home for Kellsy. Could she be for you?

Updated 21st July 2011

Having been re-homed once, directly from their original owners home, they proved to be somewhat unruly and too strong for their new owner as a pair. They are now in kennels with us.

They will probably be better re-homed individually and have been separated in preparation for this. Of course should you be an extremely experienced and knowledgeable dog person, we may still consider re-homing them together.

Updated 24th October 2010

Due to a change in their owners circumstances Kellsy and Madison are looking for a new home.

From the information we have Kellsy has no problems with children, cats, dogs or receiving visitors. Madison, while possibly a little more excitable similarly appears to have no hang ups.

These two have lived together since they were puppies, if at all possible we would like to re-home them together.

Do you have the space for these two girls?

Kellsy & Madison
Ellie - We don't know what happened to this girl, she has disappeared from the RSPCA in Chesterfield's web site!
Age 8 Years
Female

We have been asked by the RSPCA to help in finding Ellie a new home.

She apparently was abandoned by her previous owners and suffers with arthritis in some joints. It seems she is not great around other dogs but has lived with cats. According to the RSPCA  she is very sweet natured and will make a great companion, full details here http://www.chesterfield-rspca.org.uk/pets-for-adoption/older-animal-pages-oap/older-animals-for-adoption/621-ellie-w2011068

Are you that Special Person who is able to take on Ellie and her medical needs?

Dillon - Both Boys have found homes
Age 5 Years
Male

Rudi
Age 4 1/2 Years
Male

Dillon and Rudi came to us as kennel mates. Dillon appears to be the leader and is a little more outgoing of the two. They have lived with older children, teenagers.

While we would like to re-home them together, we appreciate that this may not be possible and would consider re-homing them individually.

Do you have room for this dynamic duo?

Riot - Has Been Found a New Home
Age 14 Months

We only have the sketchiest details of Riot. Living in a multi-dog household Riot is destructive when left to his own devices. At his age he will need an experienced owner.

Leo - Can Now Stay in His Own Home!
Age 8 Years

As with many, Leo appears to be a victim of the recession.

He has lived with three children and seems to be quite placid. He is a bit on the portly side!

Can you find a nice warm spot for this lad to spend his autumnal years?

Shaka - Has found his new home!
Age 2 1/2 Years
Male

Due to the sad passing of his master, Shaka is looking for a new home.

Shaka is a lively lad in need of plenty of exercise and his mistress is unable to cope with him.

It seems that this boy, while good with children and obedient at home, needs firm leadership when out and about. Someone with long experience with ridgebacks would be ideal for him. Is that you?
