The Open Show in support of Rescue was held
once again at Sandiacre
Friesland Sports Centre, Sandiacre, Derbyshire, where our judge was Ms
Linda Fletcher (Kantaris)
This year, apart from the dog showing, there were various raffles
plus an
auction of some 20 year old Port Wine, with auctioneer Paul Storey very bravely taking on
the task of selling it (I understand there were many more volunteers for the
less onerous task of drinking it!!)
Already this show is developing it's own traditions with the annual offering of a beautifully decorated cake from Julie, Rosmary, Anne and David Bates for raffle; Paul & Liz Storey's annual provision of a basket of wine for raffle; and a Trophy for Best in Show to be kept permanently by the winner donated by the Bates Family.
In addition, this year a beautiful North American Indian work of art was donated by Cath Davis and Yvonne Bowker for raffle, plus the Port Wine donated by Colin McKenzie for auction.
Thank you to all who donated to and supported this show. The sum of £627.00 was raised which will go in it's entirety towards those unfortunates that need our help.
